This 40' x 40' graded lot has access to parking, electrical and water- all things that were not available before when this passionate idea was brought up by a group of residents in years past. The concept is to have 16 individual raised beds, each with their own spicket to control watering for their own individual needs; this self-sustained garden will offer an exciting new way to learn about establishing gardens in the Sonoran Desert.
The REALTORS of the Estrella REALTOR Networking Group, along with Pioneer Title & DK Home Loans donated $8,156.79 to support the infrastructure. In addition, material donations were provided by the Developer, Estrella HOA, ASM Masonry, Diamondback Concrete, HPS Investments, BrightView Landscaping, Agave Landscape, and Ultimate Landscape & Design bringing the project to completion in time for the September 2022 Grand Opening.
The mission statement created for this project is, “Volunteers committed to developing a self-sustainable community garden in Estrella. We do this by bringing together diverse groups of people, with a focus on youth development. Together we strive to develop and beautify the site and empower community members of all ages and abilities”.
Located on a 40’ x 40’ parcel near The Presidio, the garden includes:
· 12 raised beds (3’ x 6’) with drip irrigation
· Secure steel fencing
· Educational and social events open to all residents
Plots are assigned by random drawing and may be rented for $75 per season.
The gardening season runs September through June, with applications accepted mid-summer through the Estrella Community Services Office. The garden is open from sunrise to sunset daily.

You must be an Estrella or CantaMia Resident.
A garden Committee was formed through the HOA. Volunteer opportunities for administrator, membership, treasurer, community outreach and educators will be available to help manage the garden and its growth.
