This 55 x 55 graded lot has access to parking, electrical and water- all things that were not available before when this passionate idea was brought up by a group of residents in years past. The concept is to have 16 individual raised beds, each with their own spicket to control watering for their own individual needs; this self-sustained garden will offer an exciting new way to learn about establishing gardens in the Sonoran Desert.
ERNG, along with Pioneer Title & Allyson Knappenberger with DK Home Loans has donated $7,651.00 to support the infrastructure along with material donations from Newland, Estrella HOA, ASM Masonry, Diamondback Concrete and Agave Landscape brought
the project to completion in time for the November 2022 Grand Opening.
The mission statement created for this project is, “Volunteers committed to developing a self-sustainable community garden in Estrella. We do this by bringing together diverse groups of people, with a focus on youth development. Together we strive to develop and beautify the site and empower community members of all ages and abilities”.

Overall Lot size is approximately 55 x 55. At this time, there will be 12 raised beds with separate spickets. Each plot will be an estimated 2 x 8.

Plots will be rented annually at a cost of approximately 190.00/year. This is NOT formalized as we are still in the buildout phase. Fees are to offset water costs. Projections have it at less than 20.00 per month.

Starter soil has been donated. If the gardener wants different soil, they can replace it on their own. At this time, we are not aware if the donated soil will be designated Organic.

The garden will be fenced in. A gate with a lock will be installed. Pathways will be made up of quarte minus.

A garden Committee will be formed. Volunteer opportunities for administrator, membership, treasurer, community outreach and educators will be available to help manage the garden and its growth.
