2025 School Supply Drive

The Estrella Realtor Networking Group is beyond happy to report the success of our Inaugural School Supply Drive to benefit the students of Westar and Estrella Elementary Schools! Through the donations of our community and contributions from our local businesses, we collected $2,300 in school supplies and awarded our raffle winners $815 in prizes!
We believe this was a worthwhile endeavor for our group and look forward to even greater community involvement next year!
Here's all we did to make it happen!
- We hosted 2 drive-thru, drop-off events: - Estrella Mountain Elementary School 1/25/25, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm - Westar Elementary School 2/1/25, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- We provided a pop-up tent, tables and chairs with the ERNG tablecloth and a School Supply Drive banner, raffle tickets, pens, music, donuts, bagels and wagons to transport the school supplies into the schools.
- We set up collection boxes at Starbucks, Walgreens, and CantaMia from 1/13 to 2/3/25
- We had a “School Supply Drive” article published in the January "Up the Hill" magazine which is mailed to each home in Estrella.
- We provided 1,400 physical flyers to send home with all students at Westar and EMES.
- We published the flyer to Peach Jar, a digital flyer that goes out to school parents via email.
- We set up QR codes for PayPal and Zelle and purchased supplies from the Amazon lists with monetary contributions.
- We conducted a social media campaign to get the Amazon Registry, Zelle and PayPal donation links and QR codes out to the entire community. Our message appeared on more than a dozen Estrella pages.
- We worked to collect raffle prizes from local businesses as an extra incentive for people to donate. Those who dropped off donations or presented their online donation receipts at our events received a raffle ticket to win one of more than a dozen prizes!
- Estrella and CantaMia HOAs agreed to include our information in their weekly email blasts to the community.
- We asked each member of our Estrella Realtors Networking Group to distribute flyers to their sphere of influence including friends, neighbors, clients, and professional business partners requesting donations.
- After the event, our committee gathered to sort donation items to ease teacher distribution to students, sent an inventory list to each principal to provide to their teachers, and then delivered the supplies to the schools. We contacted the raffle winners by phone and text, distributed prizes by mail and special delivery, and visited participating local businesses to award them with certificates of appreciation.
The Estrella Realtor Networking Group invited community businesses - MedSpa, Oasis Bagels, Taste of Italy, Danny's Shave Parlor, The Cantina, Cafe Bebida, Lakeside Grill, and Rhonda Watson Wine Consultant with Scout & Cellar Clean-Crafted Wines to get involved by gifting raffle items as incentive for community members to donate school supplies. Starbucks at 9890 Estrella Pkwy, Walgreen's at 9800 Estrella Pkwy and the CantaMia Residence Center all generously agreed to host drop off locations for those unable to attend events. We spent 2 Saturdays collecting supplies at the schools.
